So often we feel that anxiety is a negative thing, however anxiety is usually a protector part. It is trying to protect us from something or prevent something from happening usually trying to prevent feelings of feeling like we're not good enough, we're unlovable, we are out of control, etc. These protector parts work really hard to prevent those type of feelings which for us feels a lot like anxious thoughts and anxious feelings. anxiety can show up in so many ways with so many different symptoms. anxious thoughts could be worrying overthinking second-guessing ourselves, anxious behaviors could be trouble sleeping, overeating or not eating at all, drinking smoking. anxiety can also look like being really irritable, on edge or impatient. The most important thing is for us to understand what are anxiety symptoms are and what is the root of those symptoms. Is it past issues from childhood? Is its current stressors that are in our life? Is it dealing with relationships companionships or family relationships? The most important thing is to not ignore our anxiety because it can cause medical issues as well. take time to rest, take time to exercise and eat well, take time to be observant of your thoughts and how you would like to think differently. take the time!! #anxiety #depression #emotionalwellness

Today I was triggered. The younger part of me that I don't like others to see. The part that carries feelings of not being good enough, not being appreciated, not being loveable were triggered in me. It causes feelings of sadness and anxiety, but then I remembered what I know to be true.
